MANDY HALL – “I’ve been very lucky in my life with horses. I’ve worked with the best and the worst people and horses. I rode at a riding school my mum managed, riding everything and anything as didn’t have my own pony. I left school and went to work for the riding school owners at their private yard where there was everything from brood mares to International three day eventers, show jumpers and show horses. That’s where I got my AI.
From there I went back to the riding school/livery yard and did everything from cleaning the loos to teaching.
I then ran my own yard where I evented, did county level showing, side saddle and where I first met my future husband.
We went into hunt service in Ireland before moving over to England to hunt the last season before the ban came in. We are now in our 22nd season as hunt servants, having moved to the Staff College Drag Hunt four seasons ago.
I am the chief instructor at the Sandhurst Equestrian Centre at the RMAS and support the manger with the day to day care of the ponies.
I understand what it’s like to be nervous and scared and am very good at getting people back on track with confidence, be it adults or children. I love teaching and helping people and their horses.”
